Jonathan is pursuing a degree in Native American Studies at Fort Lewis College. He grew up in Oklahoma, raised in his Cheyenne culture. His lifelong goal is to revitalize his Cheyenne language because of his maternal grandfather, who was one of the last elderly fluent Cheyenne speakers in his Tribe. Jonathan has interned as a Language Apprentice, writing and reading in Cheyenne, and as an Indigenous Food Systems Intern, learning and maintaining Indigenous-based farmland practices and using a traditional calendar to farm.
